Turning 43 today, and I’m just feeling deeply blessed.
Looking back, picking up a camera truly saved my life by helping me feel again. It forced me to slow down, breathe, and see the value in everything around me. But I didn't walk this path alone. My wife, Lanatria, was the one who introduced me to photography. As my creative director, she showed me exactly what I needed to produce to be great, and whenever I felt like giving up, she was right there encouraging me to keep going.
Watching my kids grow up has been another huge wake-up call. They show me every single day how important it is to value every step of the way because time just keeps flowing.
When you spend this much time behind the lens, getting older gives you a totally different perspective. You start to notice how quickly things shift—family dynamics evolve, seasons change, and the everyday moments we take for granted slip by fast.
That’s why this work means so much to me. It’s not just about taking pictures; it’s about capturing our culture, preserving memories, and holding onto the beauty of this life before it changes.
