The 2026 North Carolina Azalea Festival Spring Fashion Show brought an incredible energy to the Holiday Inn Resort Wrightsville Beach this year. As a Wilmington-based photographer, capturing the behind the lens moments of this iconic event was a highlight of the season. From the vibrant runway walks featuring Caribbean Cowgirl to the intentional community support from sponsors like Rev Federal Credit Union, this year’s show was a testament to the creative spirit of Wilmington, NC. In this gallery, I’m proud to share the runway highlights and the quiet, powerful moments backstage that made the day so special
Behind the Scenes at the Azalea Festival Spring Fashion Show at the Holiday Inn Resort Wrightsville Beach
The "Runway Series" from this event focuses on the intersection of strength and beauty. From the intricate garment details to the poise of the models, every frame was a testament to the hard work that goes into this annual tradition. But the real story happened in the quiet moments backstage—the "girl's girls" supporting one another, the deep breaths before the walk, and the shared joy of a successful set.
Runway Series: Featuring Caribbean Cowgirl- A Mission of Intentionality
I’ve always believed that visuals should tell a deeper story. This year, I was particularly inspired by the mission to celebrate beauty out loud. In spaces like these, it’s vital to acknowledge and "pour into" the women who are taking up space and being their full, unapologetic selves. Seeing the intentional support for women and the celebration of every woman's unique "magic" made this more than just a job, it was an inspiration.
Gratitude to Our Sponsors and Community-Wilmington NC
An event of this scale doesn't happen without a strong foundation of support. A special shoutout to Rev Federal Credit Union for sponsoring this event and investing in the creative heartbeat of Wilmington, NC. It’s an honor to capture these moments for a community that values both the art and the person behind it.
A massive thank you to the local boutiques whose vision brought the runway to life: Jess James+Co, Dillard’s, Camille’s of Wilmington, Isaroe Boutique, Gentlemen’s Corner Wilmington, and Shop My Sister’s Cottage. Your curated styles define the elegance of the 2026 North Carolina Azalea Festival Spring Fashion Show.
I also want to acknowledge the men who took to the runway, showing that style and support go hand-in-hand. Seeing everyone come together to lift these "queens" and "kings" up was the highlight of the day.
"You were never too much... they weren't enough. Don't ever tone down your beauty for another's comfort." — Lanatria
To my wife Lanatria
Watching you move through these spaces with such grace and intentionality is one of my greatest joys. You don't just shine, you make sure everyone around you has the light they need to shine, too. I’m so proud of the way you use your voice to protect and uplift other women, and I’m honored to be the one capturing that magic behind the lens. Keep taking up space and being exactly who you are. I love you!
